Barbara J. (Pulaski) Roscoe, 81, of Worcester, died peacefully surrounded by family at Knollwood Nursing Center on Monday, April 25, 2016. She leaves her daughters, Claudia Roscoe Nash and her husband, Craig of Millbury, Jennifer Roscoe of Watertown; her grandsons, Adam and Zachary Nash; her sister, Darlene Jenny of Bradenton, Florida; her brother, Robert Pulaski of Newark Valley, New York; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara is predeceased by her mother, Anna Rabideau; her sister, Loretta Nicholas; and brother, William Pulaski.
Barbara was born in Preston, New York, but grew up in Pittsfield, MA. Attending Pittsfield High, she kept busy in the art club and was proud to be the lead drum majorette. After graduation in 1952, she worked at Pittsfield's General Electric Co. in various early-technology.
In 1980, she turned her passion for art into a career and opened a home studio to teach art classes.
An accomplished and recognized professional artist, she showed her talent in various esteemed art shows along the New England coastline. She was a founding member and great supporter of the Quinebog Valley Council for the Arts, in Southbridge.
After retirement, Barbara enjoyed living summers in Wells, Maine and winters in Sarasota, Florida and continued to paint the rocky New England shores and exhibit in Maine galleries. She always found cultural events to attend for Sunday outings with Jack. They traveled the US in their RV experiencing roadside diners and visiting extended family.
In her later years, she continued with her art by growing the Briarwood Art Gallery. She interviewed new artists and hosted many art exhibit receptions.
Barbara was always so involved with her family and friends, old and new. She loved her girls so much, and especially enjoyed watching her grandsons grow. She loved to cook, crochet, garden and win at Scrabble. All who knew her, loved her strength, resilience and sense of humor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 at Saint Christopher's Church, 950 West Boylston Street, Worcester. A memory reception will be held at Briarwood Retirement Community, 65 Briarwood Circle, Worcester, from 4:00-6:00 pm. on Saturday, April 30th. We encourage friends and family to attend and reminisce. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Quinebaug Valley Council for the Arts and Humanities, 111 Main St., Southbridge, MA 01550 or online at http://www.qvcah.org/donate/. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St. Holden, is assisting the family with arrangements.

WORCESTER - John "Jack" Roscoe died peacefully surrounded by family at Knollwood Nursing Center, on January 10th. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Barbara Roscoe; (Barbara Jane Pulaski of Pittsfield) his daughter Claudia Roscoe Nash and husband Craig Nash of Millbury; daughter Jennifer Roscoe of Watertown; and grandsons Adam and Zachary Nash. He also leaves his sister Mary Callahan of Pittsfield and many nieces and nephews.
Jack was born in North Adams to John and Mary Roscoe. He graduated from Saint Joseph High School in 1949 and attended North Adams State College.
He served as a MML3 in the U.S. Navy and was aboard the U.S.S. Raby during the Korean War. In 1955 he began his lifelong career at Massachusetts Electric Company, retiring as a General Foreman in 1993.
Jack was altruistic in nature, serving as a Boy Scout leader, teaching woodworking to mentally challenged adults at the Center of Hope, and volunteering as a sous chef at the Salvation Army. In addition, Jack was a big brother with the Big Brother Big Sister organization.
Jack's greatest passion was building houses. A self-taught and skilled carpenter, he built his first home in Cheshire, and a later a home in Wells, ME. He was happiest working at Habitat for Humanity and assisted in the construction of hundreds of homes in MA, CT, FL, TN, and in Domincan Republic.
He loved to bake, sample Worcester diners, and looked forward to early morning coffee with his buddies. He enjoyed Sunday drives with his love, Barbara, cherished his daughters' sense of humor and reveled in the antics of his grandsons.
There will be a "memory reception" at Briarwood Retirement Community on Wednesday, January 15th from 4:00 pm-6:00pm. We encourage his friends and family to attend and reminisce.
A funeral Mass for Jack will be held at Saint Christopher's Catholic Church on West Boylston Street, Worcester on Thursday, January 16 at 11:00 am.
Another reception will be held at the Hot Dog Ranch in North Adams on February 8th at 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester, 11 Distributor Road, Worcester, MA 01605.

The Rev. Geoffrey C.S.S. of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Springfield performed the double ring ceremony during an 1 a.m. Nuptial Mass. The bride's cousin James J. Robinson ofPittsfield served as altar boy.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank C. Pullaro of 31 Weller Ave. Pittsfield. The bridegrooms parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frederick M. Crosier of 21 Avon St. this city.
Mrs. Kenneth A. Cranson of Pittsfield was her sisters' matron ofHonor. Misses Paulette Pariselli of Pittsfield cousin of the bride and Linda ?-ham of Pittsfield a friend were bridesmaides. Elaine B. Pullaro sister of the bride was junior bridesmaide and Deborah Lesure of this city, niece of the bridegroom was flower girl.
Marshal A. Crosier of this city the the bridegroom's brother, served as best man. Harry Lewis of Cheshire Thomas Elder and Edward Dunn of this city and Ronald Minifri of Halerkam, N.J. all friends of the bridegrooms, ushered. He was graduated from Drury High in 1961l and attended Wentworth Institute, Boston. He served three years in the Marine Corps with 18 months of overseas duty in Okinawa.

CHESHIRE -- Mrs. Phyllis S. Poplaski, 65, of 64 Lake Shore Drive died Sunday at Berkshire Medical
Center.
Born in Adams on July 4, 1932, daughter of the late Stella Pytko Rogalski, she attended schools in
Adams. She worked at various mills in Adams and at the Adams Rest Home as an nurse's aide for
14 years, retiring in 1987. She also assisted with the operation of Poplaski Lumber and Poplaski
Potato Farm, both in Cheshire.
Mrs. Poplaski was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire. She enjoyed
her grandchildren and crocheting.
Her husband, Stanley P. Poplaski, whom she married July 16, 1949, died April 23, 1992.
She leaves six sons, James S. Poplaski, David D. Poplaski, John P. Poplaski and Jerry P. Poplaski,
all of Cheshire, Anthony J. Poplaski of Tennessee and Stanley P. Poplaski Jr. of Agawam; three
daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth A. King and Ms. Donna M. Smith, both of Cheshire, and Mrs. Irene
"Penny" Jefferson of Pittsfield; a brother, Alexander Rogalski Jr. of Adams; 19 grandchildren; and
four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the

Mrs. Swistak worked for Adams Laundry and Dry Cleaning Co. for many years, until retiring. She also assisted her husband in the operation of Swistak's Bar & Lounge in Cheshire for many years.
She had been a communicant of the former Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Parish and had enjoyed sewing as a hobby.
She and her husband, John J. Swistak, were married on Oct. 25, 1948.
Besides her husband of 63 years, she leaves a son, John J. Swistak III and his wife, Donna, of Adams; a brother, Richard Racine and his wife, Barbara, of Adams; two sisters, Elizabeth Crosier and her husband, Neal, of North Adams, and Virginia Kruszyna and her husband, Ronald, of Cheshire; three grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

NORTH ADAMS -- Mary Rose Lazzeri, 89, of Holy Family Terrace, 611 State Road, died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she had been admitted Tuesday.
Born in North Adams on April 12, 1910, daughter of Louis and Rena Papavero Rancatti, she attended North Adams schools, including Drury High School.
In her younger years, she was employed by the former Arnold Print Works and, before her retirement in 1970, she was employed by the former Boston Store for 15 years.
Mrs. Lazzeri was a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and a former communicant of St. John Bosco Church of Stamford, Vt. She was a member and past president of the Trentino Society of North Adams, member and past president of the NABOB Club of The Boston Store and a member of the North Adams Lodge Sons of Italy. She was a former member and past president of the St. Ann's Society of St. John Bosco Church of Stamford, Vt.
Her husband, Leo Joseph Lazzeri, whom she married Aug. 30, 1930, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, North Adams, died Sept. 6, 1996.
He leaves a sister, Mrs. Lena Kerr of North Adams; two brothers, Peter Rancatti and Charles Rancatti, both of North Adams; two granddaughters, and two great-grandchildren. A daughter, Dolores Lazzeri Crosier, died July 20, 1970.
