Robert William Trombley, age 70, a resident of Church Street in Pownal, died on Sunday, June 11, at the Bennington Health and Rehabilitation Center, following a long illness. He was born in North Adams, MA. on March 30, 1947, and was the son of the late Robert W. and Shirley May (O’Brien) Trombley. He received his education in North Adams. Robert proudly served in the Navy as a Corpman with the Marines during the Viet Nam War, and is a Purple Heart recipient. He married the former Janice Blair on October 30, 1970. Robert for many years was a bus driver involved with child care. The Trombley’s moved to Pownal in 1983 and began a sewing business that is now operated by their daughter, Lisa. He was a former member of the Community Bible Church in Williamstown, MA and more recently of the North Pownal Congregational Church. He has taught Bible Studies, and lived his Christian faith. He was kind, compassionate gentleman. He was most happy spending time with his family, enjoying recreational outings: like family baseball games. He enjoyed playing chess and video games, and was in charge of the Trombley family ancestry.com website. Besides his wife, of Pownal and his daughter Lisa, also of Pownal, he is survived by one son Sean Trombley and his wife Joyce of Arlington, VT He leaves one sister, Lisa Varuzzo and her husband Mike of North Adams, MA and their son Andrew Varuzzo of Ithaca, NY. One brother John Trombley of San Antonio, TX and several nieces and nephews.. Robert is predeceased by one brother, Michael Trombley. A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St. Bennington, VT. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal. There are no calling hours scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pownal Rescue Squad, Ladd Road in Pownal, VT 05261. |

She was born in North Adams, MA on March 28, 1934, daughter of Henry and Irene (Beaudin) Blanquart. She attended the Notre Dame Parochial School and completed its commercial course. Marguerite was last employed as a school bus driver for JT Bus Lines and Dufour for over 25 years until her retirement. She also worked at Adams Supermarket and for Paul DiLego, CPA. She was a communicant of Notre Dame du Sacre Coeur Church where she assisted at its Bingo and bazaars. Marguerite enjoyed camping and was a member of NAFCA and its NoBeSoVe Mountaineers Chapter for many years. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and gardening and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was the widow of Ernest P. St. Cyr who died on December 27, 2011. They were married on June 8, 1955 in Notre Dame Church. Survivors include one daughter, Michelle Perry and her husband, Ted of Colchester, VT and two sons, Richard St. Cyr and his wife, Marcia of Fairdale, KY; and David St. Cyr and his wife, Donna of North Adams. She also leaves 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Blanquart and his girlfriend, MaryEllen Eliasen of North Adams; and nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Marguerite St. Cyr will be Monday, January 18, 2016 at 8:15a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams followed by a Funeral Mass at 9a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. He was born in North Adams, on June 29, 1932, son of Moise and Yvonne Delisle St. Cyr. He attended North Adams schools including Drury High School. Mr. St. Cyr was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the US Army. He was last employed as an electrician with Anderson Electric. Before that, he worked at Greylock Electric for many years. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Ernest was a member of NAFCA and a former president of his camping chapter. He was also a Boy Scout Leader with Boy Scout Troop #26 of Clarksburg. Ernest enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, playing cards and cribbage. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, the former Marguerite Blanquart, whom he married on June 18, 1955 in Notre Dame Church. One daughter; Michelle Perry and her husband, Ted of Colchester, Vt., two sons; Richard St. Cyr and his wife, Marcia of Fairdale, Ky., David St. Cyr, and his wife, Donna of North Adams, 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. Two brothers; Lawrence St. Cyr of Lady Lake, Fla., and Albert St. Cyr of North Adams and two sisters- Lucille McLear of Adams and Annette Knickerbocker of Milford, Maine. A sister in law; Vonnie St. Cyr of Pittsfield. A brother in law; Paul Blanquart of North Adams; and nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister are deceased including Norman St. Cyr and Celia Barcomb.
