Published in Bennington Banner on Dec. 17, 2016 SHAFTSBURY - Edwin Andrew Colvin, 48, a resident of Holliday Drive in Shaftsbury died unexpectedly Monday December 12, 2016 at his residence. He was born in Bennington, VT on July 6, 1968. He was the son of the late Edwin A. Colvin and Barbara D. (Crowley) Colvin who survives. Ed received his early education in Shaftsbury and was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School. In earlier years Ed was employed at H. M. Tuttle Company. He later owned Southern Vermont Appliance on Main Street in Bennington. Following a fire that destroyed the building he went to work for the FW Webb company Ed enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially time on the Battenkill River with his dad and the many great times in deer hunting camps with his extended family and friends. Ed enjoyed watching sports and was an avid New York Giants fan. Perhaps more than anything, Ed was known for his quick wit and unique ability to make anyone smile at any time. Ed's world changed immeasurably with the birth of his beloved daughter Skye. She was the light of his life and he cherished every moment of being her dad. Survivors include his daughter Skye Colvin and former wife Shelley Lettre Colvin both of Shaftsbury. Ed is also survived by former in-laws Michael and Cheryl Lettre of Bennington, former brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jeff and Heidi Harrington and very special nieces Alexis and Alicia Harrington, all of North Bennington. Ed's mother, Barbara Colvin of North Bennington survives, as does his brother William Colvin, William's wife Jessica Chapman and their daughter Mia of Bennington. Many cousins, near and far, also survive. Ed was predeceased by his father Edwin. |
