David graduated from McCann High School with the class of 1991 where he studied Electricity. He was employed for many years as a machinist at Tog Machine in North Adams. He was proud father and a great provider to his family. He was an active volunteer for the Adams Little League and enjoyed watching his son play. David enjoyed fishing, bowling at the Valley Park Bowling Lanes and golfing with his brother and friends and was an avid pool player. He was a member of the Advisory Committee at McCann High School. Survivors include his mother and stepfather Susan and Ronald Sherman of North Adams. His wife Frances (Larabee) Lesure whom he married September 23, 1995 at the First Baptist Church in Williamstown. Two loving children Jessica SueAnn Lesure and David Bryan Lesure III both of Adams. Brother Jason Lesure and his wife Sarah of Adams. Sister Samantha Sherman and her companion Timothy Mogan of North Adams. Paternal grandmother Joan (Crosier) Lesure of North Adams. Step grandmother Karen Sherman of North Adams, father and mother in-law David and Nikki Larabee, sisters in-law Sandra Racine and Dan and Melisa Larabee and Glen and brother in-law David Larabee all of Williamstown. Kenneth leaves a brother, Harry E. Gillilan of St. Albans; a sister, Corrine M. Camley of Burlington; and a close friend, Cheryn LaRocque of Brookfield, with whom he made his home for many years. He was predeceased by a brother, Harold Gillilan, on March 27, 1988. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m., in the Heald funeral chapel. Pastor Mary Beth Hutchinson will officiate. Born May 24, 1936, in Bowie, Texas, to Clyde Buckner and Irene Marcella Ingram Coffman, he married Betty Long on Jan. 18, 1968, in Carthage. She survives. Also surviving are four sons, Ricky D. Franklin of Fairbanks, Alaska, Norman and Randy Coffman, both of Fort Madison, and Tony Lee Franklin of Memphis, Mo.; two daughters, Mrs. Brett (Lisa) Selman of Houston and Mrs. Steve (Lynette) Carter of Fort Madison; one brother, Jerry of Peoria; and seven grandchildren. One son, Blaine Jr., preceded him in death. Memorial services were May 18 at Barr Memorial Chapel in Fort Madison. His body was donated to science. |

From: The Berkshire Eagle, Aug. 25, 2017 Alfred Duane Mullett Jr., 83, of Readsboro, Vt. passed away at his winter residence in Zephyrhills, Fl. on August 17. He was born on April 4, 1934 in Florida, Ma. to the late Alfred and Nettie Mullett. Al graduated from Drury High School. He was a former member of the Stamford Grange, The Hairpin Turners Sq. Dance Club, The Balance Rock Lodge Masons and the Stamford Community Church. He served as a former Stamford Vt. Selectman. Prior to his retirement in 2014 he managed The Readsboro General Store. He was an accomplished carpenter and helped build the store and many other projects for family members. He is survived by his son Steve Mullett (Linda) of Stamford, daughter Barb Martin (Neal) of N. Adams, and daughter Brenda Dente (Tom) of Readsboro. 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Sisters Pearl Mullett and Nancy Bellows of North Adams, brothers William and Earl of Florida, Ma. and Daniel of Adams. In addition to his parents, Al was predeceased by his son Roy Mullett, Priscilla Lawrence Mullett, former spouse, his sister Lena Hurlbut, and brother Kenneth Mullett. Al was an outdoorsman. He loved hunting with his sons, the Red Sox, bowling, fishing, and boxing. A memorable experience he had was hang gliding at the age of 76. At his request, there will be no services. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. From: NorthAdams.com Earl W. Pelkey January 14, 2002 Earl William Pelkey, 78, of 31 Pomeroy Ave. died Monday at Craneville Place, where he had been a resident for two weeks. He had lived in Dalton since 1966. Born in Dalton on Feb. 9, 1923, son of Edward and Birdella Crosier Pelkey, he attended local schools. An Army veteran of World War II, he served in Normandy with the 840th Army Corps of Engineers. While in Normandy for three years, he was in charge of heavy equipment, and helped level and prepare air strips and build bridges. Pelkey returned to the United States in 1945. He was employed as an operating engineer with J.H. Maxymillian Construction Co. from 1979 until his retirement in 1994. He worked on the demolition project for the GE 20s complex on East Street. Previously, he had worked as a heavy equipment operator for Farrell and Gregory. He worked on projects such as the Eisenhower Locks on the Saint Lawrence Seaway to refineries in the San Francisco Bay area. He worked for the S.J. Grove for 15 years and set the bridges on the New York Thruway in the Syracuse area. He worked on building the student union at the University of Massachusetts and set the steel for the former Hilton Hotel. He was a member of the Dalton Veterans of Foreign Wars. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He leaves his wife, the former Nancy E. Leabo, whom he married Sept. 1, 1957, in Pownal, Vt., and two sons, Rodney R. Pelkey and Edward D. Pelkey, both of Dalton. He was predeceased by three brothers, Edward L. Pelkey, late of New Jersey, who died in 1960; Joseph D. Pelkey, late of Novato, Calif., who died in 1993; and Elmer E. Pelkey, late of Pittsfield, who died in 2001; and a sister, Elaine R. Girard, late of Cheshire, who died in 1992. Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10 at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. John R. Smith, pastor of the Dalton United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, Wednesday, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
