Individuals : DOE Randy N.

Quote from the original source document :
Published in The Burlington Free Press on Aug. 25, 2014
RANDY N. DOE - BERKSHIRE - Randy N. Doe, 62, passed away unexpectedly from complications of heart surgery on Friday, Aug. 22, 2014, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born in St. Albans on March 19, 1952, the son of Elizabeth "Betty" (King) Doe and the late Norman Doe. Randy was a lifelong resident of Berkshire, and a 1970 graduate of Richford High School. After attending VTC for a year, he began his extensive working career which included working with Robert Benson in Richford, DeLaval (Norman Gervais) in Enosburg Falls, and Agway Inc. in Franklin County as a regional dairy equipment salesman. He then began Mountain View Dairy on the Max King Farm in Berkshire which he operated for several years, and also started Mountain View Dairy Equipment which he later sold to his son, Jason. He was currently a farm manager for Gervais Family Farm in Bakersfield and Enosburg. Randy was also a lifelong sugarmaker. Randy spent his whole life working with dairy farms and the great families that run them. He was well known in all parts of Vermont for the work he did for farmers. Extremely talented at all aspects of construction, from designing to remodeling, installing equipment, all the way down to repairing circuit boards on his own equipment. Known for his tough "get it done" attitude, Randy's intense dedication and work ethic were unmatchable. At age 62, he was out-working 18 year olds right up to the day before his operation. Randy loved to work, and enjoyed getting a lot accomplished, even planning details for the next day as he slept. Randy was an avid outdoorsman and especially liked deer hunting with his many friends. Even with his tough exterior, he had a very soft side; especially for his wife, grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Randy had a very special connection with the young children that reminded him of his daughter, Kristen. Whether he was sharing M&Ms with his grandchildren, hunting with nieces and nephews, or sneaking a cookie to a little one, Randy always loved to spoil the children in his life. He is survived by his wife, Anne (Gervais) Doe. Randy and Anne were married on May 23, 1992. He is also survived by his son, Jason Doe of Berkshire; stepsons, Dominic DeRosia and wife, Linnea, of Richford, and B.J. DeRosia and partner, Maria Gleason, of Bakersfield; grandchildren, Jacob and Emma; step-grandchildren, Olivia, Madison, and Sydney; mother, Betty Doe of Berkshire; siblings and their spouses, Debra and Alan Chagnon of Berkshire, Terry and Diane Doe of Berkshire, Ricky Doe and fiancee, Mary Anne Duell, of St. Albans, Jamey and Beverley Doe of East Berkshire, and Marsha and Dale Larose of Franklin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Robert and Gisele Gervais of Enosburgh; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses, Charles and Tami Gervais of Bakersfield, Daniel and Kim Gervais of Enosburgh, Larry and Laurie Gervais of Enosburgh, Theresa and Lee Lawyer of Bakersfield, Susan and Damian Blouin of Enosburg Falls, Robert and Tanya Gervais Jr. of Enosburgh, Paul and Kelly Gervais of Enosburgh, Philip and Sharon Gervais of Columbus, Ohio, Clement and Colleen Gervais of Enosburgh, Annette and Todd Brown of Bakersfield, Gabe and Amy Gervais of Bakersfield, Sam and Alissa Gervais of Burlingame, Calif., Pierre and Kerry Gervais of Sterling, Mass., and Michael and Taryn Gervais of Enosburgh; and many nieces and nephews. Randy was predeceased by his daughter, Kristen Doe, on March 24, 2005; father, Norman Doe, on April 28, 2014; and sister-in-law, Betty Doe, on Sept. 19, 2011. A celebration of Randy's life will be held Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at 11 a.m. at his home on the King Road in Berkshire, with the Rev. Jason McConnell officiating. There will be no visiting hours. Messages of condolence may be sent to Randy's family online through www.spearsfuneralhome.com. For those who wish, contributions in Randy's memory may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Vermont, 100 Dorset St. Suite 14, South Burlington, VT 05403; or to Camp Ta-Kum-Ta, PO Box 459, South Hero, VT 05486. Both of these organizations have special meaning to Randy's family.
